Boehringer Knoll Junior Lecturer on "Diabetes Mellitus"
Was awarded Boehringer Knoll Junior Lecturer on "Diabetes Mellitus" by the Association of Physician of India in 1970 for the original work regarding clinical pattern of Diabetes. Besides receiving a citation and a Gold medal, Dr. B. C. Kar was invited to present a lecture on "Diabetes in the Young" at a special meeting held by the Association of Physicians of India at Calcutta.
Netaji Oration
For original and hitherto unknown contribution about Sickle Cell disease in India, was awarded the prestigious Netaji Oration by the Association of Physicians of India in 1990.
Keynote Speaker
Has been invited to deliver keynote address/ guest lectures in various seminars and conference e.g., National Seminars on Sickle Cell Disease in Burla (1985), Cuttack (1986), Bhubaneswar (1990), Bombay (1991), Zonal Conference of API in Ranchi, Zonal Conference of National Academic of Pediatrics in Culcutta and Raipur.
Paper on "Sickle Cell Disease in India"
A paper on "Sickle Cell Disease in India" was accepted for presentation in Asia-Pacific Conference of International Society of Hematology in Hong-kong in 1991. But could not attend due to personal reason.
